This is certainly a busy week at the Stadium as the U19's were in action last night against St Pats but unfortunately were on the wrong side of a 3-1 scoreline when the match finished. Callum McKelvey scored from the spot for Athlone.
Tonight sees the U15 team take to the pitch when they welcome UCD in their first game in the Shield. The group is made up of Athlone Town, Drogheda United, Longford Town, Mayo FC, Monaghan United-Cavan FP and UCD. Kick Off in the Athlone Town Stadium is at 7.30pm
Tomorrow night(Wednesday) is the turn of the U17 Girls and they will face Galway WFC in the Sรณ Hotels League Cup. We are in Section A where DLR Waves and the Donegal league received byes into the next round and in a game played last week Sligo knocked out Bohemians in a nine goal thriller on a 6-3 scoreline. In section B Cork City and Greystones received the byes and Peamount knocked out Wexford Youth 2-1 and and Shelbourne beat Limerick 3 - 0. Kick off tomorrow nigh is at 7.45pm.
Friday night sees Wexford FC welcomed to the Stadium by the Senior Team in a bottom of the table clash with both sides believing that three points are a must have. This is a great opportunity for the lads to get the badly needed win and that would bring with it a great chance to move up the table as Galway United who are only one point ahead of us are up against League Leaders and odds on promotion favorites Shelbourne FC. Kick off on Friday night is at 7.45pm.
