It's a bottom of the table clash tonight as Wexford FC are the visitors to the Stadium. The performances as well as the results have improved over the last few games as the lads have recorded three draws out of the last four games and were unlucky on each occasion not to get the actual win.
While Dean William's may have departed during the transfer window there is still plenty of fire power left in the team especially as Evan Pierce has hit form and scored twice in the last three games. The return of Darren Meenan will also add greatly to the midfield and his incisive and intelligent play along side Kealan Dillon, Shane Dunne, Aaron Brilly and new signing Jamie Hamilton makes for a formidable midfield.
Gavin Kearney who went off in last weeks game with a foot injury will be sitting out this one but Paddy Kelly, who has moved up from the U19 team, has made that central defence spot his own over the last few weeks with accomplished and cool under pressure performances that have made him stand out. Ciaran Grogan and Rhys Gorman will give Terry a choice of partner for Paddy while John Morgan has also made the full back position his own. With Dean Casey and Eoghan Morgan making those clever. defence turning runs down the wing I think Wexford will be in for a torrid night.
Kick off is at 7.45pm this evening and we need everyone to come down and get behind the lads and lets get that badly needed win and start moving up the table. Galway Utd are one point ahead of us but they face league leaders Shelbourne FC tonight so this could prove to be an ideal opportunity to leap frog over them and close in on Cobh Ramblers who we are away to next week, they are away to promotion chasing Drogheda this week.
